Marine traffic through the Privlaka Channel near Mali Lošinj is temporarily blocked. The official notice comes from the Županijska lučka uprava Mali Lošinj. The reason is repair work on the reducer of the turning mechanism of the movable Privlaka bridge on state road D100.
For crews, the detail matters. This is not a general closure around Mali Lošinj. It affects the passage through the Privlaka Channel. While the work is under way, the bridge cannot open or turn for boats. The passage is therefore not available for sailing yachts, motor boats and higher craft that require a bridge opening.
Road traffic over the bridge continues as normal, according to the harbour authority. Completion of the work is expected on 1 July 2026. Hrvatske ceste is responsible for the repair.
What crews should check now
- Is the Privlaka Channel part of the planned route or a useful shortcut?
- Does the boat need a bridge opening?
- Does the outside route around Lošinj fit the weather window and the day’s distance?
- Are crew, charter base or co-skipper aware of the changed passage situation?
- Is there a fresh local confirmation from the harbour authority, bridge operator or marina before departure?
Practical view
The Privlaka Channel is a short and useful passage near Mali Lošinj. In normal operation, the mySea POI for the Privlaka Channel lists bridge openings at around 09:00 and 18:00. Those normal timings are not a solution during the current repair work: while the bridge cannot turn, the passage is blocked for boats that need the opening.

For crews, this is mainly a routing issue. Anyone planning around Mali Lošinj, Cres or the Kvarner area should avoid relying on old routines and allow enough time for an alternative route.
Radio Jadranka adds local context, referring to Ceste Rijeka: work was due to start on Friday, 12 June 2026, after the morning bridge opening, with completion expected on 1 July 2026. That supports the timing, but the official harbour authority notice remains the primary source for this update.
In brief
The Privlaka Channel is temporarily not passable for boats that require a bridge opening. Cars can continue to use the bridge normally. Until bridge openings are confirmed again, crews should not plan around the usual 09:00 / 18:00 opening pattern and should check current local information before departure.
